Nylint Late Construction Toys

#9800 - Hydraulic Big Haul Dump - 1967-68
|
Nylint used orange paint to distinguish its new "Hydraulic" Big Haul Dump Truck when it debuted in
1967. From outward appearances it looked much like the mechanical Big Haul Dump.
Early versions had no exhaust or air cleaners on
the engine deck. They may have come later, but
are never shown on this truck in Nylint catalogs.
This one is missing its hydraulic cylinder.
Here we see a comparison between the small
and large wheels. Large wheelers started in
1969 and were called "Jumbo."
#1310 - Back Hoe - 1968-72
|
One of the most desirable late period construction toys is the #1310 Nylint Back Hoe. It may not be
very prototypical in appearance but it worked great!
By the continual turning of the crank in a clockwise motion the scoop arm and bucket would smoothly
go through the above range of positions, making operation extremely easy. Very ingenious!
#1410 - Hopper Dumper - 1968-69
|
With only a two year production run, the #1410 Hopper Dumper is a hard toy to find today. Its
clamshell door operation made for an well functioning dirt mover. Finding a nice one is tough.
As seen above, Nylint also made a double trailer version. This was not offered in the regular Nylint
catalogs, but was made as a special order item for the Sears and Roebuck Co. Finding the two-wheel
"bogie" for the second trailer can be difficult.
