| This Playthings ad (from eight years earlier - 3/49) shows that the Doepke toy called "Changeable Charlie" was in production by another company long before becoming part of the Doepke line. It is quite likely that R. C. Gaston came along with the acquisition because of his knowledge of producing wood toys. |
